Insights from the First Remove Webinar on CDR Policies

In an ever-changing political landscape surrounding Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR), staying up to date on the latest policy regulations can be a challenge for startups and organisations. Recognising this need, the CDR programme, Remove, has launched a series of regular webinars aimed to provide valuable information and updates on policy regulation changes related to CDR within Europe.

A recent development comes from the not-for-profit organisation, Carbon Gap. Carbon Gap is an organisation that is dedicated to ensuring lower carbon emissions. They have unveiled a new tool on their website that is exclusively dedicated to monitoring CDR policies in Europe, called the ‘Carbon Removal Policy Tracker’. This resource recognises European policies as a whole, as well as looks at individual countries and the policy changes that are happening there and how it affects Europe.

During the most recent webinar on Monday, the focus was primarily on the Carbon Removal Certification Framework (CRCF). Participants engaged in discussions about necessary changes to be made to the framework and Carbon Gap advised the proactive steps taken by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to ensure their voices are heard.

The Remove webinars aim to be an important and relevant resource for staying updated on CDR policy regulation changes. With tools like the Carbon Removal Policy Tracker, the CDR community can actively contribute to an evolving political landscape and knowledge sharing of policy changes across the board.
